About the Festival
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture (Sangeet Natak Akademi) and Andhra Pradesh Tourism, presents the 2025 edition of Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam, scheduled on 6 and 7 December 2025 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
The main venue for the festival is Tummalapalli Vari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram, one of the city’s prominent cultural landmarks.
Vijayawada, often regarded as the cultural heart of Andhra Pradesh, provides a fitting setting to celebrate and honour the region’s profound musical heritage. The theme for 2025, “Celebrating the Richness of Telugu Music Traditions,” reflects the deep cultural identity and enduring legacy of classical Carnatic music in Andhra Pradesh.
This festival highlights Andhra’s musical traditions—including Harikatha, Namasankeerthana, Veena repertoire, vocal concerts, and collective group presentations such as the Pancharatna Kritis—featuring renowned musicians, emerging talent, and students from leading music institutions across Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states.
Beyond its musical performances, Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam embraces a broader cultural celebration with craft bazaars, handloom showcases, and regional culinary experiences. These additions provide a holistic cultural immersion while supporting local artisans, weavers, and culinary practitioners.
Music and cultural festivals play a vital role in building a destination’s identity and strengthening tourism by fostering cross-cultural exchange, community engagement, and sustainable cultural appreciation. One of the key objectives of this event is to promote Vijayawada and Andhra Pradesh as a Music Tourism destination, while also encouraging travellers to discover the region’s lesser-known cultural and pilgrimage destinations.
Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam invites music lovers, students, cultural enthusiasts, families, and travellers to experience an unforgettable celebration of heritage, devotion, and artistry—where tradition, culture, and tourism beautifully converge.
